Shoden: Reiki First Degree
As mentioned on the Reiki training page, our Reiki ‘First Degree’ course includes a professional 126 page training manual in a PDF eBook format which is included in the cost of your course and a specially-produced audio file containing two guided meditations to aid you in your studies. These will be sent to you via email for you to download. There is also the option of purchasing a professionally printed and bound, A4 size manual which will be posted out to you for an additional cost.
In brief, the manual concentrates on:
- The history, background and development of Reiki
- Mikao Usui’s teachings and how we can follow the original system in today’s world
- The Reiki ‘precepts’
- How to benefit from daily energy exercises and self-treatments
- How to use Reiki on other people
Prior to the practical training day of the course, we expect you to spend approximately nine hours working through the manual at your own pace and we provide a pre-course study pack to guide you step by step. This means that during the live practical part of your training course, you can focus your attention on practising energy work with other students, instead of trying to remember copious amounts of information. We believe that this approach provides you with a complete training in the basic Reiki technique, putting what you have already learned into practice, in a relaxed, unhurried manner.
As a thank you for choosing us we include a postcard of Mikao Usui and a postcard of his Precepts to download or if you choose to purchase a hardcopy manual we will include printed versions in your training pack. Additionally, on the day of your live course we present you with an A4 size print of the Precepts, beautifully printed in Kanji (Japanese writing) on high quality textured paper that you may like to frame.
Certification
All courses are accompanied by an attractive certificate written in Japanese kanji and Western text confirming that you have received instruction and Reiju empowerments and have satisfied the requirements of the “First Degree” of Reiki.
Unlimited Support
We also offer unlimited support and guidance following on from your training for as long as you should need it.
Investment
£160 which includes downloadable training package. You can choose to pay for the course in full or pay an £80 deposit required to secure your place. The £80 remaining balance to be paid by bank transfer two weeks before your practical day date. You will be emailed with the details then. If the remaining payment is not paid when due, we reserve the right to offer your place to another student. If you wish to purchase a printed version of the training package, the cost is an additional £25 which includes P&P.
Please note that if you defer your practical day a £40 rebooking fee will apply.
Payment for the courses can be made by Bank Transfer (please ask for details), cash or using the booking links below. Please select which Practical Training Day you would like to attend. Places are strictly limited to 6 students and the system will not allow you to book if there is no space available on your chosen day.
*Once your deposit has been received, your training pack will either be emailed for you to download within 48 hours or be posted out to you within 3 working days by first class mail. On this basis, please ensure you book your place with plenty of time to do the necessary hours of home study prior to the practical day.
*NOTE: Sometimes places become available at the last minute, so if your first choice for the practical date has sold out, please book your second choice and email Ann and ask to be put on a reserve list should a place become available. If a place does not come available, then you are guaranteed a place on the date of your second choice.

The way Ann structures the course, by sending out the manual prior to the practical session so students can familiarize ourselves and absorb all the history and techniques at our own pace in our own time prior to the practical session day, makes the hands on session a very relaxed and well paced day.
