The Beginnings of a Spiritual Manifesto
It was back in the late 1990’s that I’d received information from a Spirit Guide about the children that were to be born in the new Millennium and it was a message of great hope. I was told that they would bring change to the Earth and would begin to display many gifts. They would bring a spiritual light to show the way forward for humanity. These children have become known as ‘Rainbow Children,’ and ‘Indigo Children’ amongst other names.
It was said at the time, the new Millennium didn’t officially begin from the year 2000 but rather the year after on the 1st of January 2021! Whatever the official line was, as a kid born in the mid 60’s, the year 2000 had always been a thing of wonder to me. It was going to be the age of flying cars, routine space travel, robots, computers and futuristic houses.
We are now more than a quarter way into the 21st century and I look around and ask what has changed from the time of my birth? In many ways humanity has achieved some incredible things including much of what my child like imagination could ever have dreamed of and with drone technology, those flying cars are even becoming a possibility. Even though I’ve seen huge technological advancement, where the basic needs of life are concerned, much of humanity is still living in want, even in what are deemed the richest countries.
It’s not that we don’t have what we need, it’s more about freedom of access to those needs. I am becoming increasingly aware of the rise of what I call, “The 3rd Parties.” Nowadays, our basic needs are becoming governed by institutions and organisations who readily take a cut of the transactions between buyer and seller. If you’re not sure what I mean, let’s take utility companies as an example. When you take steps to look into the supply of essential services like heating and lighting, you find out that you cannot simply buy direct from the producers without going through an agent or utility company. In the days of old, a sale would be made between two people.
If someone in a village wanted arrows for a bow, they would go direct to the fletcher, the maker of arrows. the National Grid is responsible for generation and distribution of electricity but we cannot go direct to buy it from them, instead we have to go through agents. The National Grid levies a profit on its product to the agents who in turn levy a profit to the consumer but not only that, Ofgen then dictates price caps which is arguably a 4th party. This whole process leaves the consumer with huge bills to pay and because the whole supply is controlled at various levels, the consumer has no alternative but to buy from a limited number of controlling agents. There is a whole back story of who actually pays the costs for electricity to be generated in the first place but that is a rabbit hole I prefer not to go down here.
The advent of the internet has opened up a whole new way of supply and demand. Primarily, the shopkeepers of the internet are faceless. Machines just take your money or rather just take digital 1’s and 0’s from one computer to another. There is no smile, no how are you today, no talk about the weather, no transfer of physical energy from one soul to another, no true gratitude. The human element becomes almost completely detached. The last bastion of human interaction between buyer and seller is the physical voice in the form of a phone conversation but that is now becoming phased out in favour of AI chat. Soulless, robotic and in many cases extremely frustrating. How often have you had to make a complaint to a corporate retailer and come away feeling good?
Harking back to my vision of the future, it would never have occurred to me as a child that the need for profit would come to dominate our societies in such controlling and destructive ways as it does today. For those who’ve seen the life I speak of, how many wish they could go back to those days right now? In my opinion, what we are living with now is not progress, it is not a form of human evolution which aspires to strive for a better world. For all that we have, we are still wanting!
In meditations, I have come to learn that It is a matter of wisdom. We have technology but not the means to use it wisely. Why is wisdom so lacking? A machine works on instructions programmed into it to produce a result. AI is exactly that, nothing more, nothing less. The human has the ability to reason, to think for itself, to imagine, to construct and create by its own will and above all it has awareness of itself. Science does not deal with fairy tales but it is responsible for creating one of the greatest myths happening in real time. Right before our very eyes like a grand illusionist performing their greatest trick, AI is being treated as if it were the all seeing eye, a god, a source of all truth and no one is interjecting to stop it.
It is duping people through false narratives, written works passed off as human creation, images, video and has for many years, been taking things from the internet which no human has given consent to such as biometric information, your fingerprints, your face, your bodily health, everything you write and post on social media, phone conversations, TV viewing preferences, shopping preferences, pinpointing where you are at any given moment in time, the list goes on and on and no one appears to be questioning the ethics of it. No legislation, just open season. Now compare that to the crippling internet restrictions which have been put upon people simply for wanting to access the internet and use it as a research tool. Each time you now type a search request, AI immediately wants to take over. AI does not tell the truth, I have tested it and proven it. No one, as far as I know, ever asked for this. It is fast becoming a foundation of information based on knowledge without wisdom. without wisdom. How has this come to be?
When technology is used for the right reasons, it is incredible but the lack of wisdom in its creation, usage and infrastructure is allowing it to be used for some very nefarious practices which are not for the benefit of humanity.
Once again, it is wisdom which is the missing link. Wisdom has to underpin the very foundation of our world. The question is, can we teach wisdom? In my experience, wisdom is borne of experience but knowledge also has to play a part. Education in our society appears to have become far too heavily weighted in favour of knowledge over wisdom. Our children spend their formative years sitting in classrooms learning how to regurgitate what they’ve been told by their teachers so that they can be put under extreme examination conditions to prove that they’ve been listening in class. I apologise in advance if teachers are reading this, I don’t mean to cause offence or demean your profession, in fact, I have every respect for teachers these days for having to put up with some of the mad cap and damaging corporate-political ideals that are being foisted upon them and our children.
Through lack of wisdom, I feel that education has become indoctrination! Can you remember a particular teacher who inspired you? What was it about them that was different to the other teachers? Above all for me, it was the sense of feeling recognised, a sense of self-worth and having my imagination and creative nature being ignited in an environment which allowed me the freedom to express myself and not be ridiculed.
At the age of ten, I had such a teacher. He was the school head and he took me and a handful of other children into a separate group from the main class. He taught me about our history, he showed me how to measure the height of trees using a protractor, he taught me how to write in italics with a nibbed pen dipped in ink. He fostered my love for creative writing through essays and poetry and taught me how to paint washes with watercolours. As much as this inspired me, I can’t say that it made me wise but it certainly helped me to think and to know that my imagination was as much a valid attribute as knowing the sum of 2+2. It later turned out he was under investigation for inappropriate behaviour with some of the girls in our class!
The point I’m trying to make here is that despite the dark side to that story, I flourished under that teacher’s tutelage but I never flourished again throughout my further education. The more exam based it became, the more closed off and disinterested I was at school. I just got on with it, tried to stay out of trouble and did what I had to do. By the time I left school, I’d lost all the skills I’d learned as a 10 year old, becoming just another drone in the system. The only thing which kept me sane was a sense of humour and having an ability to make people laugh.
In my sixty first year, I look back and think just how much I could have developed had I been educated in the way that I was at the age of ten from the age of four when I started school. The spiritual teachings I’ve learned over the years have been invaluable in shaping how I perceive life. the simple act of having the freedom just to be, of receiving inspired guidance from those who we see as wise and benevolent, surely has to be the way forward for education? The foundation of wisdom we need to build for future generations must come out of those important elements. Can you imagine a learning environment where teachers inspire students to:
Know that we do not die
Live in harmony with the natural world
Respect the sanctity of all life with compassion and kindness.
Heal the self and others
Be responsible for the consequences of our actions, cause and effect.
Be open minded. To question our relationship to the cosmos, the higher consciousness and the oneness
Know the importance of creative expression, through all forms of the arts
Lean with dedicated tutors who recognise our attributes, foster and help us develop our natural gifts, skills and talents from an early age
Meditate as a natural part of all that we do
Understand the importance of self esteem on our mental health and wellbeing
The list could go on.
Of course, parenting is the most vital link in all this. It is from our parents that we learn many behaviours and more so in our time, that is where our greatest task lies. When I do readings, parents often tell me about how their children seem to be very switched on in a psychic sense. This shows me proof of what my Spirit Guide told me all those years ago. It is of the utmost importance that we encourage children to step into who they are and what they have come here to achieve. When a child displays behaviours which don’t fit the norm, the system will attempt to make them fit the norm, whatever the norm is?! Psychoanalysis or pharmaceutical intervention does not address the spiritual aspect of the human. I am not allowed by law to give medical diagnosis but I’m of the understanding that many ‘difficult’ kids would benefit from some form of spiritual mentoring and spiritual expression. It is a touchy subject but in my spiritual opinion, one which should not be simply ignored
In summary, it is not that I wish to impose my will over others, we have enough of that on a day to day basis, it is more about finding common ground, a place to refer to when looking for guidance. These points have figured in my thoughts about how and where we could start the process, so I offer all of this as my “Spiritual Manifesto” the beginnings of a blueprint for how we go forward in terms of education. Is it too much to envisage a world where we can all live by the basic principles outlined here? How many generations would it take to usher in such a paradigm shift?
If you have any ideas or thoughts, I’d love to hear from you.

Hi Jonathan -spiritual mentoring and spiritual expression-introducing the children to praying at a young age -do you think that would help .My grandparents, parents,me,my children all prayed from an early age but my children who are now adults don’t pray anymore and their children don’t.I think this is sad and disappointing..
Spiritual Manifesto—-Hope this happens.Thank you very much.
With love from Shirley xx
Hi Shirley, that’s a really good question and one which would probably take another blog to do it justice with a worthy answer. In short, prayer and meditation are one and the same but perhaps in different forms, usually, prayer is associated with faith whereas meditation can be less specific depending on the intention behind it. I feel that as children get older, prayer can seen as a duty, or ritual instilled by our parents and religious teachers. As kids get older, peer pressure can also influence us during our rebellious teen phase. Not speaking for everyone but I certainly felt these things as a child brought up in the Christian faith. It has to hold meaning and sadly as kids get older, that meaning can diminish. Meditation allows the person more freedom with no expectation or ‘duty’ attached and seems to be more accessible these days without the need to openly attach oneself to a specific faith and without being disrespectful to that faith. Either way, we can all still have a word with God anytime, anywhere just in our private thoughts alone.
