Can I be honest with you? One of my pet dislikes is labelling people, categorising them into boxes.  Why do we do it? I suppose we are sociable creatures in the main (ok I know that’s debatable) and maybe labelling is a form of creating a sense of identity and belonging to a like-minded community and maybe it makes us feel validated.  To be fair I suppose labelling can provide clarity and connection yet on the flip side, labels can be really limiting, create hostility, an overinflated ego and reinforce stereotypes. So I don’t like them.  There, I’ve said it!

Many, many years ago, Jonathan and I unintentionally went to a Mind, Body & Spirit fair.  We came across it at a leisure centre where we had taken the kids for a Saturday morning swim. I wandered around marvelling at all the crystals and spiritual gifts on offer, eyeing weird therapies with suspicion and as we passed a talk that was about to start, Jonathan and our eldest went and took a seat at the back.  I shook my head, rolled my eyes, probably tutted and left them to it. Rainbow children?  Starseeds?  What New Age nonsense are we being spun now?  Stop labelling people, I thought, there’s really no need! When we met up again after, they were really enthused by the talk but I still wasn’t interest so only really listened with half an ear whilst my inner chatter took the other half of my attention.  ‘Whatever’ wasn’t a thing back then but if it had been, I might have flounced off whilst uttering it.

Fast forward to the present and I still don’t like labels but I do accept that we can share similar traits and feel more comfortable in the presence of others who feel the same.  You see I’m a creature of curiosity.  I want to know your thoughts and your beliefs.  I want to hear your experiences, I want to know what makes you tick, what it is that shapes you, what gives you joy, what motivates you.  I don’t need you to agree with me, I don’t wish that you’d think like me, on the contrary.  In the words of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin:

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience”. 

So in essence, if we are all a part of the ‘oneness’ can we not transcend labels and find a deeper, more universal connections to self and others? But I digress, which usually happens when I sit down to write.  I have an idea of what I want to write about but as soon as my fingers have finished flying around the keyboard, the finished result can be wildly different!

So where am I going with this? Ah yes, “Starseeds”. and hmm…. I’m going to completely contradict my thoughts on attaching a label and talk about… Starseeds!

What exactly is the concept of a Starseed?

Well, it comes from spiritual and metaphysical belief systems, where it is thought that certain individuals have souls that originated from other planets, star systems, or dimensions rather than Earth. These souls are believed to have incarnated on Earth to help humanity evolve and bring about a higher level of consciousness. The traits of a Starseed often include a combination of psychological, emotional, and spiritual characteristics. Here are some common traits associated with starseeds:

1. Feeling of Not Belonging

• Deep Sense of Alienation: Starseeds often feel that they don’t quite fit in with society, family, or traditional systems. They may have felt this from a young age, sensing that Earth isn’t their true home.
• Yearning for a “Home” They Can’t Describe: They might experience a longing for a place they’ve never been to, or a strong connection to the cosmos or other star systems like the Pleiades, Sirius, or Orion.

2. Spiritual Awakening or Early Interest in Spirituality

• Strong Spiritual Inclinations: Many Starseeds are naturally drawn to spirituality, metaphysics, or New Age topics, even at a young age. They may explore meditation, energy healing, or esoteric teachings.
• Intuitive Abilities: Starseeds often have heightened intuition, psychic abilities, or sensitivities to energy. They might experience vivid dreams, premonitions, or visions.

3. Empathy and Sensitivity

• Highly Empathic: Starseeds are usually highly sensitive to other people’s emotions and energies, often feeling others’ pain or joy as if it were their own. This can sometimes lead to emotional overwhelm.
• Environmental Sensitivity: They may also be sensitive to loud noises, strong lights, or crowded places. They might feel more at peace in nature or quiet, isolated environments.

4. Desire to Help and Heal

• Strong Sense of Purpose: Starseeds often feel a deep calling to help others or heal the world. They are drawn to careers or paths that allow them to make a positive impact, such as healing, teaching, or activism.
• Connection to Humanitarian Causes: Many Starseeds feel driven to promote peace, unity, and sustainability, aligning themselves with movements for environmental or social change.

5. Interest in Extraterrestrial Life and Space

• Fascination with the Cosmos: Starseeds are often deeply curious about extraterrestrial life, UFOs, and ancient alien theories. They may feel connected to star systems or galaxies and have an innate understanding of space-related concepts.
• Feeling of Originating from Another Star System: Some Starseeds claim to have memories or dreams of lives on other planets or starships, or of being in contact with extraterrestrial beings.

6. Aversion to Systems and Authority

• Rebellious Against Social Norms: Starseeds may resist traditional societal structures, such as rigid educational systems, corporate jobs, or hierarchical institutions. They tend to question authority and established rules.
• Desire for Freedom and Innovation: They seek freedom in life and often feel stifled by limitations, desiring more fluid and open-minded ways of living and working.

7. High Intelligence and Creativity

• Gifted Intellectually or Creatively: Many Starseeds possess above-average intelligence or creative abilities. They might excel in areas such as science, art, or innovation, bringing a unique and unconventional perspective to their work.
• Out-of-the-Box Thinking: Starseeds are often problem-solvers who think differently from others. They may challenge conventional wisdom and present new, sometimes radical, ideas.

8. Connection to Nature and Animals

• Deep Love for Nature and Animals: Starseeds tend to feel deeply connected to animals and the natural world. They may feel a strong responsibility to protect the environment or care for animals.
• Harmony with Nature: Many Starseeds find peace in nature, and they may be drawn to spiritual practices involving the Earth, such as grounding, plant medicine, or eco-spirituality.

9. Unexplained Physical Symptoms

• Frequent “Ascension Symptoms”: Some Starseeds experience physical discomfort, such as headaches, fatigue, or dizziness, that they attribute to “ascension” or energetic shifts as they adjust to the Earth’s denser energy.
• Sensitivity to Energies: They might feel overwhelmed by strong electromagnetic fields (EMFs), solar flares, or intense astrological events.

10. Strong Intuition and Psychic Abilities

• Telepathy or Clairvoyance: Many Starseeds report having psychic abilities, such as telepathy, clairvoyance (seeing things beyond the physical), or clairsentience (sensing others’ emotions or energies).
• Lucid Dreaming and Astral Travel: Starseeds may have vivid dreams or experiences of astral projection, where they feel their consciousness leaves their physical body and travels to other realms.

11. Purpose-Driven But Often Lost

• Feeling of a Greater Mission: Starseeds typically feel that they are here on Earth for a reason, often to help humanity evolve spiritually. However, they might struggle to identify exactly what their mission is or how to achieve it.
• Periods of Confusion or Depression: Because of their sense of not fitting in and uncertainty about their purpose, Starseeds can go through periods of depression, anxiety, or existential crisis.

12. Vivid Dreams and Past-Life Memories

• Dreams of Other Worlds or Times: Starseeds often have vivid, unusual dreams, sometimes of places that don’t resemble Earth. They might also have dreams that feel like memories of past lives in other dimensions.
• Past-Life Regression Experiences: Some Starseeds may undergo past-life regression or hypnosis and “recall” lives in star systems or higher dimensions.

13. Feelings of Time Acceleration

• Perception of Time Shifts: Starseeds often feel that time is speeding up or that they exist outside of normal time frameworks. This might be due to their belief in higher dimensions where time is more fluid.
• Out-of-Body Experiences: They may also report moments where they feel disconnected from their body or experience shifts in consciousness that make time feel altered.

Do you recognise any of those traits in yourself?  Is it not high time that those of us who can recognise the majority of the concepts listed above come together to effect a change on a world that seemingly is descending into total despair instead of struggling alone? Although it may seem like we are entering a very dark period, the world is energetically ascending but it appears to be a slow process, at least in our linear time.

Jonathan and I have had confirmation time and time again from sources we trust that humanity has already entered into the ascension. We hear that timelines have been manipulated by forces wanting humanity to remain in a state of perpetual fear and anger so that it is far easier to control us. My human side is often in despair, incredulous that still so many slumber on in a state of apathy, seemingly unwilling to tear themselves away from modern distractions and not dare to dip a toe outside of their comfort zone. The spirit inside me knows that all is well, that fear itself is just a distraction to keep us from fulfilling our purpose and moving forward.  Most days though, my human side gets the upper hand and I see myself descending deeper into grumpy, old woman mode with a frustration that could even make Basil Fawlty seem convivial.

And then a glimmer of hope appears in the form of an email or comment or more recently in the back of a mini cab returning from a trip from the Salt Mines in Poland where we had an incredible conversation with a very switched on young couple from Ireland, so much so, we didn’t want the conversation to end and at the same time another couple who were in the cab with us, sat stony-faced, staring straight ahead and didn’t utter a word for the whole journey.  Half of me felt sorry that they had to endure four enthusiastic souls discussing all manner of topics in rapid succession like a game of ping pong.  The other half of me hopes that when they speak of the stark staring mad people they shared a journey with and the outrageous topics, some light bulbs will start pinging brightly and the more the story is shared, the more lightbulb moments occur.
